Should we book a jazz trio, duo or quartet?

Dream City Jazz comes in three sizes, and any of them can add a singer.

Our recommendation

We recommend the trio: piano (keyboard), upright bass and drums. It's our signature lineup. A duo, such as piano and bass, is the smaller option. A quartet adds a saxophone or trumpet to the trio, and a jazz vocalist can join any lineup.

How to choose

  • Start with the trio. Piano, upright bass and drums is our signature lineup, and the one we recommend.
  • Want it smaller? A duo, such as piano and bass, is the smallest lineup. Ask about it in your free consultation.
  • Want a lead voice? A quartet adds a saxophone or trumpet to the trio.
  • Want lyrics? Add a jazz vocalist to any lineup.

Whatever size you choose, the band brings its own keyboard, amps and drums, and needs a power outlet near where it plays. What the band needs from your venue.

Same music, any size

Every lineup plays the same kind of music: jazz standards, bossa nova, and pop, soul and R&B songs played in a jazz style. At the holidays, that includes Christmas Time Is Here and the rest of Vince Guaraldi's Charlie Brown Christmas music. Ask about pricing in your free consultation.
